From the outside

The Restaurant

The outside is welcoming and typical of a German Beirhouse, replete with fairy lights and wooden tables. The whole atmosphere evokes feelings of impending Oktoberfest, you can almost hear the music. Upstairs you can find a more refined approach, with air-con, deer heads and faux fireplace. The waitresses look the part and cut a fine figure with their German traditional costumes.

Part of the overall appeal is the German draft beer, Hofbräu being the main draft on tap. The prices are around 240 per 500ml Pint, there is also a selection of bottled beers. Food-wise Alexander’s German Eatery features hearty classics such as pork knuckles, spit roasted chicken and Viennese-style pork escalope.

Lighter dishes are also available if traditional German cuisine is feels heavy for you. Salads and soups are a delicious option as well.

Starters

Interestingly, the price their cold cuts and cheeses per 10grams, so its easy to order a varied selection, without running up a huge bill. Be on the lookout for seasonal specials as well, with oysters are other traditional european dishes available regularly.  Finish your meal with a traditional German sweet, like apple strudel with vanilla ice cream, for a perfect ending.
