Pizza Artisana – brings art to pizza making!

Origins of Pizza Artisana

Pizza Artisana have been operating for close to 4 years now, but they have been in their current location in On Nut for about 9 months. They started out our their delivery service to ensure every order arrives nice and warm. They are planning on expanding to other areas in Bangkok, in order to serve more pizza lovers around Bangkok. Feedback we have been getting has been overwhelmingly positive, from service to product quality, and our ratings over all platforms reflect that. From July onwards, Pizza Artisana are open 12 – 01 everyday.

Their Pizza Technique

Pizza Artisana has pizzas that are thin-crusted, New York- style pizzas. Their approach is to use high-quality, imported ingredients and fresh local ingredients. They also do our their sauces and dough in-house.  Their dough is cold fermented 24 hours to develop the right flavour and ensure that the pizza is still fluffy inside the crust yet crispy on the outside. The pizzas are then hand-stretched to carefully form that crust with the texture described above.

Smoked Salmon Pesto Pizza

This is a good place to start, its a light pizza. This is the dominant taste of salmon but definitely not overbearing. Interesting also with the pesto its a light touch affair, which is a good idea as pesto can be quite strong if over applied. There is a final garnish of rocket. Overall this pizza is tasteful and easy to eat. I could imagine cravings being developed for this particular pizza.

The Toscana Pizza

The Toscana Pizza

This is a pizza that tells a story of its Italian heritage, with salami and black olives doing the heavy lifting and light sprinkle of finely chopped bruschetta bringing up the smaller ensemble. This is a light tasting pizza that isn’t spicy or heavy, so its quite neutral for those who have delicate palettes.

Italian Sausage Parmesan Sauce Pizza

OK, this was recommended as their favourite and its definitely a distinctive taste. Its got additional cheese but they have managed to provide restraint here, many a 4 cheese pizza can just be an indulgence in cheese oil! You have varying kra-prow leaves which actually really provide a nice sharp contrast to the cheese, and then you will eventually find your way to the sausage. These small bite sized chunks with a flavour like… . I feel this is an inspired pizza, it may not be for everyone but you should definitely give it a try, it very well could become your thing! Overall Pizza Artisana provides a nice taste of Thailand.

El Diablo Pizza

And lastly the El Diablo. Now if you are living with a Thai person in your life, and perhaps they are throwing shade on your ‘Farang’ food just because it has no taste (no chilli) according to them. Then shove this in their mouth. It will delight them instantly! Its a slow burn then ends up in a mouth water display of the power of the chilli! Thanks Pizza Artisana!

Ice Cream

They also stock the La Vanille range of small tub ice creams. We tried both the Salted Caramel Ice Cream La Vanille Mango Sorbet. Unfortunately our freezer had a problem so it was nearly melted when we tried it. The salted caramel was nice and the Sorbet was pleasant. But we were intrigued by the taste and we will seek to provide a more detailed review at a later date.
